What you can expect from this Three in One Half Day Canoe Safari, Game Drive and Sunset Cruise: On the Zambian side of the Zambezi River, enjoy a half day canoe safari above the Victoria Falls, lunch on an island in the middle of the Zambezi followed by a Zambia safari game drive in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park and ending with a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River above the Victoria Falls during this Zambia tour package.

DepartureTrips are all in Zambia and include day trip visa charges only for clients travelling from Zimbabwe for the day. Year round, there are daily departures subject to minimum number requirements being met. |
Meeting Places & TimesZambia - The Waterfront - 08:00am Zimbabwe - Shop 4, Phumula Centre for transfer to the Waterfront - 07:30am
All clients being picked up in Zimbabwe, will be picked up between 07:00 - 07:30am from their hotels. For clients staying in accommodation places within Livingstone pick up is between 07:30-08:00am and clients are asked to reconfirm pick up times and places with the Zambian booking office 15 hours before departure, clients can otherwise meet at the Waterfront at 08:00am. |
 Half Day Canoe TrailThe Canoe safari operates above Victoria Falls in Zambia on the 15km (9.3 miles) stretch of the Upper Zambezi River between Simonga and Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, running between the Zambezi National Park in Zimbabwe and the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park in Zambia. |

 Game DriveMosi-Oa-Tunya National Park is a small wildlife sanctuary on the banks of the Zambezi, a few metres from the Waterfront. It protects 5 White Rhino (probably the only remaining Rhino in Zambia), plus various Antelope, Buffalo, Giraffe, Wildebeest, Elephant and Zebra. The riverine vegetation is beautiful and there are stunning views across the Zambezi River. It is also possible to see the 'Old Drift' where the settlers lived before 1904. Your Zambia safari game drive lasts approximately 2.5 hours.

 Boat CruiseArea: The Zambia safari cruise is along the river boundary of the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, around Siloka Island and back to the Waterfront Jetty.
Duration: The total time of this part of your Zambia tour package is approximately 2.5 hours. Sunset cruises arrive back after sunset. All cruises have a complimentary bar and serve freshly baked snacks, etc. An experienced guide accompanies each cruise and has good knowledge on the wildlife and local history of the area. Jambesi - maximum 25 MV Makumbi - maximum 100 (double decker). Sunset cruises comprise buffet of pies, sausage rolls, chicken wings and quiches Fully stocked bar includes beer, wine, selection of spirits, mixers and soft drinks
Equipment: Two man crocodile canoes are used for the canoe safari with life jackets and paddles being supplied to clients before the days canoeing. Open 4x4 Land Rovers with seating capacity of 9 clients per vehicle are used for the Zambia safari game drive. The Waterfront operates 2 cruise vessels from the property - 'MV Makumbi' (100 pax) and the 'Jambesi' (25 pax). |
Experience & FitnessNo previous experience is required and clients need not be proficient swimmers. |
 Minimum & Maximum PaxMinimum number is 2 pax and maximum of 24 pax. Larger groups are accommodated on a request basis, but clients will have to use canoes and inflatable rafts on the canoe safari. |
Age RestrictionThe minimum age for these trips is 12 years and no alcohol will be served to under 18’s. There is no maximum age. |
 Client RequirementsThe appropriate dress required is shorts, T-Shirts, shoes and sunscreen and a wide brimmed hat. Dry bags are provided for cameras and valuables for your canoe safari. |
Videos & PhotographsVideos and photographs will be provided on request for group bookings only and will be shown the same evening. |
 Guides & SafetyGuides are fully trained professionals and all hold valid first aid certificates. Whilst every precaution is taken, it is essential that agents make clients aware that an indemnity form must be signed before participating on this canoe safari. A comprehensive first aid kit is carried on each trip. The trip leader is in radio contact with bases in Victoria Falls and Livingstone and direct with M.A.R.S. (Medical Air Rescue Service). |
Visa RequirementsPassports are required for clients residing in Zimbabwe to cross the Zambian border. The cost of visas are not included in the rate. |
 InsuranceAll clients are covered by Medical Air Rescue Services (MARA), however, this only covers them for emergency evacuation in life threatening situations. It does not cover their hospitalisation and medication. As such travel and medical insurance is compulsory for all clients. Please ensure clients bring the details of their insurance policy with them. Clients will not be covered should they not have insurance. |
